Winter operations update, effective November 30, 2022:

Effective 2/16/22, per the California Department of Public Health and Cal-OSHA, the statewide mask mandate has expired. Vaccinated guests are no longer required to wear a mask indoors, though unvaccinated individuals should continue to do so. Our staff will wear masks indoors as required by Cal-OSHA.

The winter months bring a transition time as our tastings move indoors. Starting December 1, guests may book advance reservations for the indoor tasting experience of their choice; a more traditional, stand-at-the-bar tasting, or a seated tasting in our cozy, historic cellar. Please read the descriptions below for each to learn more. Outdoor tastings in our picnic grounds will resume in late Spring 2023.

My ideal tasting at Boeger is...

...standing inside the tasting room.

Get to know Boeger Winery! Our friendly team will pour six wines as you stand inside the tasting room. They’ll share the history of our family-owned winery, unique wines that put us on the map, and how we’ve kept the magic alive for 50 years!

* Advance reservations are recommended. We do our best to take walk-ins when we have space.

* Online reservations are available for groups of up to 8 people. For parties of 9 or more, please call the winery to check availability.

* The first reservation is at 10 am and the last one is at 4:15 pm.

* The tasting lasts approximately 60 minutes.

* Well-behaved children and leashed dogs are welcome.

* Outside food is not allowed for indoor tastings.

* This experience is $15 per person and is always complimentary for club members (up to four guests per membership).

* 24-hour cancellation notice required.

...a self-guided wine tasting.

Guests who prefer to taste wines at their own pace will love our wine flights! The wines change each week, so there's always something new to try, and four wines give you a great overview of Boeger's lineup! Choose from a red or white option for $10 each,  or our library selections for $15 each.

During the winter months, flights are available in our tasting room only and may be enjoyed outside anywhere on our grounds.

No need to make a reservation. Flights are a great option if you arrive after our last reservation, or at a time when our guided tastings are fully booked!

FAQs about wine tastings

How large of a party can you accommodate for tasting? Groups of up to 8 people can book online for our indoor tasting, and up to 10 people for our historic cellar tasting. For groups larger than that, please call the winery to check availability.

How do I make a reservation for a total of six guests, but only four are tasting? For standing tastings inside our tasting room, please indicate four guests when booking your reservation so you are only charged for four, then add a "guest note" to let us know that two more people are joining you but not tasting. We'll be sure to have enough spots for all six of you! For seated tastings in our historic cellar, please call the winery directly to book.

When will you charge my card for a tasting reservation? Reservations made in advance will be automatically charged by CellarPass in the early morning hours of your visit based on the number of guests tasting. Any changes to your guest count must be made 24 hours in advance of your arrival time. We are unable to process refunds for no-shows, or a reduction in the number of tasting guests.

Do you allow dogs? Children? Outside food?  Leashed dogs and well-behaved children are welcome for our tasting experiences. Outside food is not allowed during the tasting. Many guests pack a picnic to enjoy outside on our grounds before or after their tasting.

Do you refund the tasting fee if I purchase wine?  We do not refund the tasting fee. The family made a conscious decision to keep our bottle prices low so more people can enjoy Boeger wines, rather than raise them up to only refund fees to those who taste. The average bottle price for most wineries that waive their tasting fee with purchase is around $35-40 or more, whereas our bottle prices start at $18 and most are in the $25-28 range.

What are your holiday hours? Our tasting room is open from 10 am to 5 pm on Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. We close early at 3 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. We are closed on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Can I smoke at the winery? We do not allow smoking of any kind (tobacco or marijuana) or vaping, on the winery grounds.
