The busiest time of year is here between harvest and Apple Hill season! Below you'll find answers to Frequently Asked Questions, a great refresher for those who have been long-time Boeger fans, and those just getting to know us.
Do I need to make a reservation for a wine tasting?
In most cases, a reservation is not necessary, though depending on the size of your group, the day of your visit, and the type of wine tasting experience you prefer, it may be best to make a reservation in advance.
For stand-up tastings, walk-ins are welcome for groups of 10 or fewer without advance notice. If your party is between 11 and 20 people, please make a reservation in advance so we can be sure our team is prepared for your visit. Groups larger than 20 should call the winery in advance to discuss availability.
On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays we offer a seated tasting experience in our historic cellar for up to 10 guests. For this experience, we do recommend you make a reservation in advance due to limited seating. We accept walk-ins in the cellar when space is available.
Reservations can be made on CellarPass or by calling the winery.
Can we enjoy our wine tastings outside?
We open our outside bar on weekends when the weather is nice so guests may enjoy their tasting al fresco. Guests who taste inside should plan to explore our beautiful grounds before or after their tasting. We no longer offer tableside service outside, which means our entire picnic grounds are back to being first-come, first-served.
Do you allow picnics?
Absolutely! Guests love to picnic on our grounds while enjoying a glass or bottle of Boeger wine. We have two main areas for picnics, the garden, and the orchard. The garden area closest to our tasting room has a great mix of picnic tables with umbrellas, Adirondack chairs, benches, lounge furniture, and small bistro tables, accommodating groups of all sizes. Our orchard has a few smaller picnic tables and a few larger ones, along with a sandbox for the kids and much more green space. The orchard is perfect for families and larger groups who wish to bring lawn chairs, camping chairs, and picnic blankets as we don’t allow those items in the garden area.
Do you allow groups in limos or party buses?
In most cases, we can accommodate limos and party buses with advance notice. Groups of any size arriving in a limo or party bus should call the winery at least three days in advance to discuss their visit.
Do you offer wine flights?
Not anymore. We’re back to our “pre-pandemic” model of welcoming guests for stand-up tasting either inside our tasting room or at the outside bar on weekends when the weather cooperates.
Where can I purchase wine to enjoy on the picnic grounds?
Picnic guests may purchase bottles or glasses of wine either inside the tasting room or at our outside bar when it is open, usually Friday-Sunday. Our inside tasting room handles all sales of bottles to take home as the outside bar doesn’t have enough space to stock all the delicious wines we offer!
Can I buy food and non-alcoholic drinks there?
Yes! We are excited to partner with Blue Barn Provisions to offer preassembled charcuterie platters, sandwiches, and other picnic goodies. We also have a selection of cheese, crackers, olives, nuts, snacks, soda, and juice available for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to refill at our water stations. In an effort to do our part and avoid large amounts of plastic waste, we do not sell bottled water or stock disposable plastic cups.
Can I bring my own picnic items?
You sure can! Guests are welcome to bring their own food. The only picnic item we don’t allow is outside alcohol, and that includes beer, all wine, and liquor. Guests found to be consuming outside alcohol will be asked to dump their drink and may be asked to leave. We kindly request that you dispose of all your waste before departing. There are numerous trash and recycle bins around the picnic grounds.
Is the winery dog-friendly?
It sure is! Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our tasting room, picnic grounds and historic cellar. We do prefer they’re on a nonretractable leash. Please keep in mind that our historic cellar is intimate, so dogs should be comfortable in a smaller space and able to settle down despite distractions nearby.
Do you allow children?
Absolutely. Please be sure children are under adult supervision at all times. Guests under 21 are permitted inside the tasting room if they are accompanied by an adult. Only guests 21 and over may stand directly at the bar where wine is being served. Families tend to enjoy picnicking in our orchard area, which has a sandbox and ample space for camping chairs and picnic blankets.
What day or time is best to visit?
We find that Tuesdays- Thursdays are the quietest days during Apple Hill season, while Saturdays and Sundays are by far the busiest. Mid to late afternoon on the weekends is typically when we see the largest crowds.
Do you offer tours?
We sure do! Our harvest tours are a popular event each fall and often book up well in advance. Harvest tour guests can expect to experience the sights, smells, and tastes of fall, including enjoy sights, smells, and tastes of fall, including enjoying ripe fruit straight off the vine and sampling fermenting juice. For more information including tour dates and times, please visit the tours page.
Can we host a celebration at the winery?
Our historic cellar is available to rent for smaller private events of up to 25 guests. Please visit this page to learn more about renting our cellar. We do not rent our grounds for events, nor do we host weddings of any size.
