A day devoted to our favorite four-legged wine-drinking companions!
Join us on Saturday, August 20 from 11 am to 4 pm for a variety of activities that dogs and their humans will love. We'll have dog-themed wine flights available for purchase, along with Boeger's stellar lineup of whites, rose, and reds.
Enjoy sipping wine while you watch skilled dogs tackle an agility course, learn about the benefit of strong noses for avalanche rescues, meet and greet with members of our local kennel club and have your dog's photo taken by a pro. The coolest food truck you've ever seen will be here serving up gourmet sausages, and dogs can sample locally-made treats.
Meet all the dogs...
If you want to pet every dog you see, Hangtown Kennel Club is here to make that dream come true! Check out two different shady spots on our grounds, the redwood grove and the fig trees near the blacksmith shop, to meet and greet with over 10 different breeds. Expect to see familiar faces like the lovable Dachshund and dotted Dalmatian, along with some less common ones like the Portuguese Pondengo Pequeno and Harrier.
Weave poles and tunnels and A-frames, oh my...
Competition Canine is bringing a pack of awesome dogs of all shapes and sizes to show off their agility skills in our orchard!
Be sure to catch their demos at 11:30 am & 3 pm. In between the demos, guests who make a donation to Sierra Avalanche Dogs can walk their dog through the agility course with the guidance of a trained instructor.
The cutest four-legged rescuers...
Sierra Avalanche Dogs will be here for head pats and behind-the-ear scratches. Their handlers will share how the dogs save lives on the slopes. The winery is proud to donate a portion of sales during Wine & Wags to this awesome 501c3 organization.
A picture is worth 1,000 words...
Let Linda Blake with KarmaRocks Photography capture your pooch's unique personality. A $20 donation gets you a professional portrait; Linda donates half to her favorite dog charity, and the other half goes to Sierra Avalanche Rescue.
Delicious human treats...
Ruffhaus Hot Dog and their awesome custom VW van will be here serving up gourmet hot dogs and sides.
Like Costco for dogs...
Let your dog pick their favorite treat from Pawsperity Bakery's yummy samples lineup. Buy a bag to take home and remind them what a good dog they are!
Tips for attending Wine & Wags
We ask that you follow a few guidelines to help make the event enjoyable and fun for everyone attending. Before bringing your dog, please keep these tips in mind:
Only bring your dog if it is well-behaved, polite, non-aggressive, and doesn’t get stressed out in crowded, stimulating and noisy environments where other dogs and children are present.
Females in heat and unhealthy dogs should not attend.
Your dog(s) must be accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older and under constant supervision by that person.
Dogs must be on a fixed leash, no longer than 6 feet, at all times. Leave the retractable one at home!
Dogs are required to wear identification (collar tags, microchips, tattoos, etc.) and be up to date on all immunizations.
We will have designated pet relief areas on the grounds. When nature calls, please remember to clean up after your dog immediately!
Be sure to frequent the designated water stations. They don't call it the dog days of summer for nothing, so keep in mind how your dog fares in hot weather.
While the event is dog friendly, owners may be asked to leave if their dogs are aggressive or unruly.
Dog owners are solely responsible for their dog’s behavior and will be held responsible for any injuries or damages caused by the dog.
Please review safe dog greeting behaviors with your children. Always ask permission to touch an animal that is not your own.
